2023 Dodge Durango: Hybrid, Specs, Photos & Release. Dodge is planning another Hellcat-powered SUV that will become available in North America. The upcoming 2023 Dodge Durango Hybrid is something that will surely please the fans. This model has been delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. That means the production will start later this year and Dodge could launch a new model at some point during 2023.
The idea is to combine the Pentastar V6 engine with the FCA’s “e-Torque” mild-hybrid system that is available in models such as Ram 1500 or Jeep Wrangler. Even the 5.7-liter will be in the offer, but the Hellcat engine is only available in the SRT version of the Durango SUV.
Exterior and Interior
In terms of exterior design, the new 2023 Dodge Durango Hybrid won’t be any different than the regular model. That means the new-gen Durango will arrive with the body-on-frame architecture and Hybrid will follow the same path. New Durango will draw a lot of cues from the Ram 1500 pickup truck. It will get various exterior upgrades, especially upfront.
As for the interior, Durango Hybrid will offer a tech-rich cabin with three rows of seats. There will be room for seven passengers and the customers should expect an all-new cabin design. The interior will provide a higher level of comfort and larger displays. The Durango SUV will be full of driver-assistance features.
2023 Durango Hybrid Specs
As we said, FCA will look to pair its 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 to a brand’s “eTorque” mild-hybrid system. The same system powers Ram 1500 truck and Jeep Wrangler SUV. The 2023 Dodge Durango Hybrid will arrive with this setup as its standard. Dodge will also provide a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 that also works with the eTorque system.
The optional powertrain will return 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The eTorque mild-hybrid system adds small power and torque but it significantly improves fuel efficiency. The stop/start system is smoother with the eTorque

After years of rumors, the SRT variant will finally get a powerful V8 supercharged engine from hell. Famous Hellcat V8 delivers 707 horsepower just like in the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk version. That also means the Durango SRT will be mechanically the same as the Trackhawk version.
Trackhawk sprints from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds so expect the same figures with Durango SRT Look at new Durango SRT as the tech-rich model like Chrysler Pacifica and as the most powerful SUV, like Grand Cherokee. It will be able to tow around 9,000 pounds but its price will start high, at about $80,000.
