2025 Ram 2500 HD Release Date, Price, Specs, & Photos

2025 Ram 2500 HD Release Date, Price, Specs, & Photos. Changes in the heavy-duty segment are not so frequent. The 2025 Ram 2500 is relatively new, with the latest generation debuted last year. So, the upcoming truck won’t receive any notable updates. At least cosmetically. On the other hand, experts are pointing out the biggest downside of the HD lineup– the AISIN transmission. Ram is losing a lot compared to Allison, so the upgrade is the priority. Will the FCA replace the gearbox, or AISIN is going to make improvements, we will see after next season.

2025 Ram 2500 HD Redesign

The 2025 Ram 2500 is not as capable as the Ram 3500. It offers most options like the Series 3 truck, except the dual rear wheel configuration. Plus, the Power Wagon is the exclusive trim level for Series 2. It is the most capable off-road model in the HD segment, at least until Ford launches the Raptor version of F-250.

2025 Ram 2500 Specs

Under the hood of the 2025 Ram 2500 is a petrol engine. A 6.4-liter Hemi unit is good for 410 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. We can see this powerplant in other models by the FCA. An eight-speed gearbox is a power router and Ram 2500 is available with 4 × 2 and 4 × 4 drives.

A more popular configuration combines a turbodiesel engine and a six-speed auto transmission. A 6.7-liter inline-six is developed by Cummins. Like said, the AISIN gearbox is out of date and it will be replaced soon if FCA wants to stay competitive. For the Series 2 truck, the configuration is tuned for 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque. If you want more, Ram 3500 can make 400 hp, 1,000 pound-feet, and 35,000 pounds of towing capacity.

2025 Ram 2500 Power Wagon

Like every Ram truck, the HD segment offer starts with the Tradesman version. Big Horn is a nice upgrade, while you must add $12,000 more to get it to the Laramie trim. Between this one and premium Longhorn and Limited editions, there is a unique package. The 2025 Ram 2500 Power Wagon is equipped for tough off-road tasks. It comes with the same engine options, but a 4 × 4 is standard, as well as the Crew Cab.

The truck is lifted and offers 14 inches of ground clearance thanks to the Goodyear Wrangler Duratec tires. 17-inch wheels are standard and the truck can dive up to 30 inches of water. The interior is modern, while the Power Wagon graphics are the highlight of the exterior. The downsides of this package are limited towing capacity and extremely high fuel economy.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

As with most pickups, the Ram’s extensive number of trim levels and cab styles mean its interior materials, passenger space, and number of in-cabin tech features can vary widely in terms of quantity and quality. A single cab, a spacious four-door Crew Cab, and the massive Mega Cab (which offers the largest rear seat in the class), are available. Heavy-duty trucks from Ford, Chevy, and GMC are luxurious and also large inside, the Ram has the best interior in the segment with luxury-car-level detailing, extreme comfort, and a clean, modern design, while the highest trim levels offer premium materials.

The top Longhorn trim even gets striped wood and gold trim on the dash, doors, and gauges along with the Longhorn logo hand-branded into the wood on the truck’s upper glovebox door. The cabin’s design also features functional controls and a ton of interior cubby storage. Its multilevel center console can accommodate a laptop with a 15.0-inch screen. Every Ram HD also comes with standard acoustic glass and active noise cancellation tied into the audio system, and the result is a truck that’s luxury-car quiet inside– even the diesel models.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Ram also packs its heavy-duty trucks with in-cabin tech that rivals some big-buck luxury sedans and SUVs, including the latest infotainment technology. The Ram’s system is intuitive, with simple menus and prompts. It also responds quickly to user inputs, and its 8.0-inch touchscreen is large and well placed.

Ram also offers a giant 12.0-inch reconfigurable touchscreen, which is the largest in the class and gives the truck’s interior a high-tech look and feel. The system also features navigation, a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For your devices, the truck’s interior features five USB ports and up to three 115-volt outlets, which can handle up to 400 watts to run or charge tools quickly.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

The heavy-duty Ram hasn’t been crash tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Both the 2500 and 3500 can be equipped with a long list of driver-assistance technology. Key safety features include:

  • Available forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking
  • Available blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert
  • Available adaptive cruise control

We don’t expect many changes compared to the current model when it comes to safety features. That means that all versions will come standard with systems like lane-keeping assist and adaptive steering, as well as parking sensors. In higher trim levels, you can also get goodies like adaptive cruise control with stop, forward-collision mitigation with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage, and rear cross-path detection and lane-keeping assist.

2025 Ram HD Release Date and Price

Considering that no significant changes are about to come for the next year, we are pretty sure that the 2025 Ram HD will hit the market sometime late in the year. Base models should go around 35.000 dollars when it comes to the prices.

Both 2500 and 3500 models will be available with the same trim level options in the offer, with pretty much the same list of standard features. The offers start with the Tradesman which goes around 35.500 dollars for the 2500 model, while the 3500 would cost you additional 1.500 dollars, roughly. The Limited trim stands at the top of the offer, with a starting price of 63.500 dollars for 2500 model and 65.000 dollars for the 3500 model.
