From the beginning it was recognizable due to its chassis code on the first look, then due to its rally-inspired technology, like an all-wheel drive, stiffened suspensions and turbocharged four-cylinder engines. Major redesign and improvement of WRX model occurred in 2014, precisely in the fourth generation.

If you didn’t know, a modified third generation WRX STI participated on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in April 2010. It was driven by Tommi Mäkinen who set up a record for a 4-door car at a lap time of 7:55. With all this in mind, everybody is very curious if the new 2025 WRX will surpass high expectations.

2025 Subaru WRX Redesign

For now, nothing has been officially announced about the performance and the design of the new car but like everybody else, we are very speculative, and if you want to know more, stay with us.

2025 Subaru WRX Design

At the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, the Subaru announced the Viziv Performance Concept so that gives a clue that maybe new WRX model will share some similarities. It is generally known that Subaru introduces incredible modern concepts that never actually get put into production. Regardless, we hope that this time it will break the tradition and that new WRX model will be an impressive piece of design.

Based on the Viziv Performance Concept From 2017, the front fascia is upgraded with a six-sided grille and six-star badge. The grille might contain a matte-black supplement with hexagonal shapes inside but on the outside there will be check-marked shape LED headlights angled down towards the center of the car.

The fog lights, which were on the corners, are replaced by the large intakes. Recognizable hood scoop stays at front center, and it will be more attractive thanks to a pair of extra character lines.

As for the rear, we expect a subtle trunk spoiler to come as an available option. The standard wheels on WRX were 17-inch, but now under the fenders, you will find 18-inch wheels. According to the topspeed.com, the speculative exterior dimensions of new 2025 Subaru WRX and 2017 Subaru Viziv Performance Concept are shown in this chart.

The first thing that remains the same in the cabin is a five-seat passenger space, but there is still a place for needed luggage. Speaking of seats, it would be nice to put seat warmers for more pleasant winter trips. There is a touchscreen (it might be between 6-8 inches); for the more comfortable handling of the infotainment duties and a trio of rotary knobs for the climate control in the center console.

The latest Subaru’s Starlink multimedia gear is the minimum expected. It includes safety features and also the entertainment side for smartphone support, app support, voice commands, and navigation.

As for the safety features, the included ones are Automatic Collision Notification, Enhanced Roadside Assistance, Stolen Vehicle Recovery, etc. Considering the smartphone support, everyone expects the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connection.

Engine

The FA20 2.0-liter engine was first introduced with the VA generation in 2014, and now we expect from Subaru to utilize it one more time. This engine output is rated at 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.

This power will be delivered with a six-speed gearbox with a standard symmetrical AWD system. None of this would be possible without the redesigned suspensions and extra chassis stiffness. A balance between comfort and sportiness are equally outstanding as the performance.

2025 Subaru WRX Release date and price

Far Subaru was releasing its models on Tokyo Motor Shows and New York International Shows. What we are hoping for is that we will see it as soon as possible. We are looking forward to coming to 2025 New York International Show for 2025 model, but also we will not be disappointed if it shows later that year in Tokyo.

The competitors must be so that we could give you a right estimate of the cost of new WRX. The strongest one is 2025 Ford Focus ST which hides a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine delivering the 252 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. It costs $25,075.

The other one is 2025 Honda Civic Si which costs affordable $25,100. It is powered with turbo four-cylinder engine which delivers 200 HP with the six-speed gearbox.

They are both reliable options if you want budget vehicles. The current WRX model’s price is slightly higher and starts at $26,995. The newest model is probably going to be a little expensive than the previous, and depending on a trim there will be additional paying. Now it is on you to decide which one to prefer.
