2025 VW Atlas Redesign, Release Date, Price, and Hybrid. The idea of an SUV-based pickup truck is really popular nowadays. Volkswagen is just one of the manufacturers that will try to deliver something similar. The upcoming 2025 VW Atlas is the approaching pickup truck. We know everything about it, except for the name of the model. Tanoak is the name of the concept, possibly the name of the new pickup truck.
Volkswagen plans to invest a lot in the pickup truck market on the American soil. For that reason, we can expect a very modern and upscale pickup. Logically, it is based on the VW Atlas SUV. The two will share the platform, engine, and design language. New Volkswagen’s pickup will compete in the mid-size segment.

Single Engine Option
As for the performance, the new 2025 VW Atlas pickup truck will offer an only engine option. It is a 3.6-liter V6 unit that generates 280 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. Atlas comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission and manual shift mode is also available.
A 4Motion AWD system is optional and Atlas also offers numerous driving modes. That includes modes such as snow, sport, on-road and off-road. We are still waiting for more precise details such as fuel economy or towing figures.
Exterior Design
The forthcoming 2025 VW Atlas will look to rival the new Honda Ridgeline. It is one of the most reliable models in the mid-size pickup truck segment. Still, new Atlas won’t be able to compete against the best-in-segment models such as Ford Ranger or Toyota Tacoma. On the other hand, the German manufacturer will deliver a fantastic design and a great-looking model. Most of the styling cues and exterior features have been shared with the Atlas SUV.
That includes the front fascia with a two-bar grille and beautiful LED headlights. The front bumper will sit lower, and this model will ride on larger 20-inch aluminum wheels. At the back, stylish LED taillights are available as standard. The tailgate looks perfect and unique. Atlas pickup will ride on the MQB platform, just like its SUV sibling. When it arrives, Atlas pickup will be available in a dual-cab variant.
SUV-Like Interior
This is a no brainer as the pickup and SUV models will look the same from the inside. The 2025 VW Atlas pickup will borrow all of the features and systems. There will be room for five passengers, and the cabin will look clean and upscale. A digital gauge cluster looks perfect, and the infotainment system is brand-new.
This system supports the latest phone integrations. A three-spoke steering wheel is available as standard, just like two-zone climate control. A console-mounted gear shifter looks attractive and classy at the same time. Unlike the SUV’s interior, a pickup truck will offer a more practical cabin.
2025 VW Atlas Price and Release Date
The price is still a mystery. Having in mind the 2025 VW Atlas is a mid-size pickup; the price should start at around $32,500. The goal is to rival Honda Ridgeline that costs slightly below that. Still, we don’t know anything about the trim levels and the release date. Some reports are suggesting the arrival of Atlas pickup in late 2025.
